Satin Chrome Plating

Satin Chrome Plating is a finish, which has been used for many years as a decorative finish as well as an industrial finish. Satin chrome is sometimes referred to as matt chrome. Spencer & Spencer can produce this finish is a wide range of textures and gloss levels.

Prior to being electroplated the item, which is to be satin chrome, must first go through a mechanical staining operation. This is where the texture and gloss of the finish are developed depending on the media used while staining. Once the item has been satined it then enters the electroplating operation.

Satin chrome is generally plated with the layer of nickel prior to being chrome plated to provide a uniform finish and to enhance the performance of the finish. Satin chrome can also be produced directly without mechanical operation with satin nickel undercoat. The photograph shown above is our most popular grade of satin chrome plating with e-coat This finish will give a color, which is bluish white and provides excellent performance in service. This finish look very rich in color and feels very soft after ecoat .
