Polyamide
Features:
Engineering thermoplastics
Tough, abrasion-resistant material.
Improved surface appearance, creep resistance, and processability compared to nylon 6/6.
Can be molded about 80 degrees F (27 degrees C) lower with less mold shrinkage because it is slightly less crystalline.
Nylon 6 has a lower modulus and absorbs moisture more rapidly than nylon 6/6.
Easy Processing
Good mechanical performance
Colourability
Excellent wear properties
Electrical insulation
Design freedom
Impact
Excellent surface aspect
Puncture and tear resistance
Applications:
Automotive (Door Handles & Radiator Grills)
Electrical (Low Voltage Switch Gears: has a range of sub-category applications, miniature circuit breakers, residual current devices, fuses, switches and relays, contactors and cabinets.)
Window Insulation
Fuel tank
Polyamide 6 is used in large applications in sport, such as ski bindings and in-line skates. This is because it has excellent fatigue properties and provides high impact and mechanical strength.
