Nickel Plating
Nickel Plating is a chemical plating process in which deposition take place by way of dipping i.e. auto catalytically.
Electroless nickel plating is done to prevent the product from wear and corrosion. As the name suggests, Electroless Nickel Plating does not require current to pass through it in order to form deposit, like electroplating. By suspending the powder in the bath, it can also be used to manufacture composite coatings. Advantages of Electroless Nickel Plating over Electroplating are as follows:
- Free from flux-density and power supply issues
- Provides even deposit regardless of workpiece geometry
- Can deposit on non-conductive surfaces with the proper preplate catalyst
