Nickel cadmium KRM, KRX batteries are specially designed using sintered positive plates and pasted negative plates for rail applications.

The sintered positive plates are manufactured using a high-temperature sintering process to form strong plates, which can survive the rigors of rail applications. The pasted negative plates are specially designed with high power density and have reduced water consumption. The sintered micro-porous separators and membrane separators provide insulation between the plates and permits free flow of ions.

Triumph - Tubular Gel VRLA Batteries for Solar Photovoltaic

Charge input from solar arrays sometimes is insufficient to keep the batteries fully charged. During sun-less days, batteries are discharged but not charged. These conditions result in battery operating in Partial State of Charge (PSOC), Cycling and Deep-cycling. Also, solar systems are installed in open atmosphere exposing the batteries to extreme temperatures. Other lead acid batteries fail in such conditions due to sulphation, stratification, corrosion and plate shedding. Moreover, remote solar installations make water top-up difficult and costs money.

To meet such rigors of usage HBL introduces a maintenance free (no water top-up) Tubular Gel VRLA battery with unbeatable combination of Tubular plate and gelled electrolyte, which is a perfect fit for all solar applications.

A battery is a critical component of any power supply system and has a significant impact on its performance and reliability. Today, there is a distinct preference for high-performance, compact and light weight batteries.

Engineered by HBL, Lead-X redefines performance. Lead-X batteries employ Pure Lead-Tin, thin plate design for high performance. These Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries are designed using Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) separators that render the batteries spill-proof. Use of AGM separators in combination with self-resealing, pressure regulating valves and a starved electrolyte design enable recombination of gasses generated during normal operation. This eliminates the need for electrolyte top-up.

Construction:

The construction is based on conventional pocket plate technology by introducing special features to enhance the low water usage, giving extended service life and outstanding performance specially when operating at high temperature.

The active materials are encapsulated between folded steel strips, which are perforated on both sides, thereby increasing the effective surface area and making battery more efficient. These batteries use a special separator, which allows gases generated during charging to recombine inside the cell thus ensuring minimal water loss. This concept enables the batteries exceeding the gas recombination requirements defined in IEC 62259. In normal conditions, VentPro battery shall have only one topping up with water in its total service life.

The positive tubular plate electrode is made by pressure die-casting using a low-antimony lead alloy
The cell cover is made of high quality Glass-fiber Reinforced plastic (GRP). It is resistant to dilute sulfuric acid and is designed for demanding standards of shock resistance
A measurement sensor in form of a lead strip is provided between the container walls and the rubber lining to sense any possible acid leakage from the cell container
Each cell is equipped with an acid circulation system. Compressed air from submarine’s pressurized air supply system is used to circulate the electrolyte inside the cell using the principle of an air pump
Use of very low antimony alloys, high purity materials and superior separators ensures very low hydrogen generation rate making the battery very safe for use in submarines

Uninterruptible Power Solution for Data Centers

Data centers are critical business hubs for banks, insurance companies, government institutions and many other institutions. A totally reliable power supply is needed for their operations. UPS are typically used in parallel with diesel generators. On failure of the grid power the UPS takes on the load – while the generator is started, stabilized and switched to take over the critical loads. For the power system to be totally reliable the facilities engineer needs a totally reliable battery. This application requires the best available battery to deliver the load for a typical duration of 5 to 15 minutes. Thereafter the loads will have switched to the alternate DG power

Earth Leakage Monitor

Unexpected breakdowns in the electricity supply produce very high economic losses. Monitoring and signaling of earth faults is essential in these situations. HBL’s ELM in DC power systems enables quick detection of earth faults to prompt for corrective action. It works on the principle of residual or differential magnetising current induced in a current transformer. ELM is used in DC power systems like battery chargers, AC-DC converter systems, DC-DC converter systems and DCDBs. It provides the customer an ability to install immunized earth leakage protection systems in their installations. 

Our Battery monitoring system ensures the optimal usage of energy inside the battery powering the product. It smartly operates by preventing costly downtime due to unexpected battery failures. Traditional estimates, with proper management system can make battery life reach the level of design expectations.

Thyristor Battery Charger

Thyristor based battery charger uses Thyristor switching principle for achieving the desired DC output. It basically consists of a transformer, a semi-conductor bridge rectifier, a filter circuit and a control circuit.

The AC mains voltage is transformed to a suitable level and fed to the rectifier bridge. After being smoothened by the filter circuit, it rectifies the AC input and feeds controlled DC output to the battery and load. The power output requirement is adjusted by using phase control technique which is provided by the control circuit. The feedback signals from the output to the control circuit are used for maintaining voltage regulation and current limit.
