Nickel cadmium KRM, KRX batteries are specially designed using sintered positive plates and pasted negative plates for rail applications.
The sintered positive plates are manufactured using a high-temperature sintering process to form strong plates, which can survive the rigors of rail applications. The pasted negative plates are specially designed with high power density and have reduced water consumption. The sintered micro-porous separators and membrane separators provide insulation between the plates and permits free flow of ions.

Charge input from solar arrays sometimes is insufficient to keep the batteries fully charged. During sun-less days, batteries are discharged but not charged. These conditions result in battery operating in Partial State of Charge (PSOC), Cycling and Deep-cycling. Also, solar systems are installed in open atmosphere exposing the batteries to extreme temperatures. Other lead acid batteries fail in such conditions due to sulphation, stratification, corrosion and plate shedding. Moreover, remote solar installations make water top-up difficult and costs money.
To meet such rigors of usage HBL introduces a maintenance free (no water top-up) Tubular Gel VRLA battery with unbeatable combination of Tubular plate and gelled electrolyte, which is a perfect fit for all solar applications.
A battery is a critical component of any power supply system and has a significant impact on its performance and reliability. Today, there is a distinct preference for high-performance, compact and light weight batteries.
Engineered by HBL, Lead-X redefines performance. Lead-X batteries employ Pure Lead-Tin, thin plate design for high performance. These Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries are designed using Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) separators that render the batteries spill-proof. Use of AGM separators in combination with self-resealing, pressure regulating valves and a starved electrolyte design enable recombination of gasses generated during normal operation. This eliminates the need for electrolyte top-up.
Construction:
The construction is based on conventional pocket plate technology by introducing special features to enhance the low water usage, giving extended service life and outstanding performance specially when operating at high temperature.
The active materials are encapsulated between folded steel strips, which are perforated on both sides, thereby increasing the effective surface area and making battery more efficient. These batteries use a special separator, which allows gases generated during charging to recombine inside the cell thus ensuring minimal water loss. This concept enables the batteries exceeding the gas recombination requirements defined in IEC 62259. In normal conditions, VentPro battery shall have only one topping up with water in its total service life.

Each cell is equipped with an acid circulation system. Compressed air from submarine’s pressurized air supply system is used to circulate the electrolyte inside the cell using the principle of an air pump
