In the Salt Spray Apparatus Chamber articles are exposed to a mist of salt saturated air produced by spraying common salt solution into a closed cabinet. The articles are positioned so that they are exposed to the mist produced.

The presence of an acid radical such as sulphates in a Chromium Solution is a basic requirement, which makes deposition of Chromium possible.
