AUTOPOL I Polarimeter
This is an entry-level system with a touch-sensitive keypad and a colour LCD display. It has a resolution of 0.01 Deg Arc with an accuracy of +/- 0.02 Deg Arc. With the "AP" (Advanced Precision) option the resolution would be 0.001 Deg Arc and the accuracy would be +/- 0.004 Deg Arc. The wavelength would be 589nm which is Sodium "D" line.
The AUTOPOL I is Rudolph's most economical automatic polarimeter designed for education and less demanding applications where the budget is critical, but quality is still important.

Manufactured to NIST and ICUMSA Standards
Rudolph Research Analytical Quartz Control Plates provide a permanent calibration standard for polarimeters and saccharimeters. Every Rudolph calibration standard is manufactured using extremely stable crystalline quartz which is manufactured and polished to specific planeness, parallelism, purity, and axis standards. These standards meet or exceed the specifications outlined on Page 61 of the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) Circular C440 or as laid down by the International Commission for Uniform Methods of Sugar Analysis (ICUMSA). Each Quartz Plate comes complete with a label showing calibration at 11 different wavelengths (Picture G), a protective box and a NIST Traceable Certificate.
Any rotation is available but generally available stock rotations are listed below. Quartz Plates come in single and dual versions. Single Quartz Plates (Picture E) have a single rotation value at each wavelength and are calibrated in °Arc (Optical Rotation) and °ISS/°Z (Sugar Degrees). Dual Plates are also calibrated in °Arc and °ISS, but have three rotation values at each wavelength (Picture F). This is possible because each plate is made up of one left or levo turning Quartz Plate (i.e. -28° Arc) and one right or dextro turning plate (i.e. +30° Arc) which may be used separately or together for a combined rotation of 2° Arc (30°-28°) see Picture H below. Every Rudolph Research Analytical Quartz Plate is manufactured to a reported uncertainty of ±0.002° Arc at 589. Please contact the factory for the Quartz Accessory Plate that is best suited for your needs.
Rudolph's J series Digital Refractometers are automatic with an LCD screen. Refractive Index being highly temperature-sensitive the sample's temperature from models J57 and above is controlled by the electronic heating and cooling Peltier technology. Through the keypad the temperature of the sample can be set thus avoiding the use of water-baths which are clumsly, cumbersome and costly.
The J series Digital Refractometers cater to a very wide range of industries including food, pharma, petroleum, chemical, petrochemical etc.. The wide range of RI 1.26 to 1.72 is very useful since in pharma the monographs for a product like Servoflurane in USP would be in th range of 1.2745 to 1.2760.
From models J157 and above the Rudolph Refractometers heat the sample from the prism and also from the top cover. This is very crucial when the samples are being used with volatile solvents. The volatile solvents if not heated from the above tend to evaporate thus increasing the concentration. In such a case, the reading of RI would keep fluctuating as the concentration keeps changing.
The prism of all J series is very shallow that it is very easy to clean the previous sample. When the next sample is to be introduced the cleaing is a simple swipe with a tissue and the instrument becomes ready for the next analysis. Compared with competition, this is a very big advantage Rudolph Refractometers offer to Customers.
RUDOLPH DENSITYMETER DDM RANGE: All the models of the DDM range are totally automatic, digital and have a built-in, touch-sensitive screen. They can control the temperature of the sample through electronic heating and cooling – Peltier method. The VideoView which is patented in the name of Rudolph comes with the basic unit. The entire U-tube is also scanned with a 10X camera. This ensures even the smallest bubbles to be magnified 10 times and the images are shown live in the screen. The range is between 0 – 3 g/cm3. The min volume of sample required is 1ml. The systems are equipped with 5 USB Ports, 2 RS232 Ports, Ehternet Port for Network Connection, Keyboard, Barcode Scanner, Mouse, Network capabilities.
They have a built-in 8GB Non-removable Compact Flast Internal Memory and the entire system would be driven by Embedded Win 7 OS. With calibration in one temperature the system works throughout the temperature range.
Models 2910 & 2911 can also be equipped with a 21CFR Part 11 module and it is easily enabled through the digital touch screen and come with either NIST or UKAS traceable standards.
The differences between the various models lie in the resolution, repeatability and accuracy.
The KEM, Japan portable Refractometer model RA130 is a light-weight system, easy-to-use and a handy one. It is a microprocessor controlled instrument with an LCD display. The sample can either be dripped on the prism or the prism of the system can also be dipped into the sample beaker to measure RI. It is equipped with an Infrared port for easy data transmisison to a computer.

Overview:
The KEM, Japan portable Densitymeter model DA130N is a microprocessor controlled system with an LCD display. It operates out of the ASTM approved "oscillation of the U-tube" method. It displays Density, Temperature-compensated Density, Specific Gravity, Temperature-compensated Specific Gravity, Brix%, Alcohol Concentration, Sulfuric Acid Concentration, API degree, Baume degree, Plato degree, Proof degree, etc..
The lightweight and easy-to-operate system weighs only 360 grams.
It can analyse Viscous liquids upto 2000 mPas. There is also an port through which the samples can be injected by a syringe into the U-tube.
Densitymeters are mostly used in Labs and the samples could be volatile liquids. One big application of Densitymeter is maintenance of Batteries. This is being done by testing the Density of the Acids of the Batteries. Some commercially available models of Densitymeters are built in such a way that the U-tube is in the same casing as the electronics. The volatility of the samples and the Acids have always meant that the life of the portable Densitymeter is always a short one.
The DA130N has a simple and ingenious design where the electronics has been housed far away from the U-tube. This means that the volatillity of the samples and the fumes of the Acids never harm the electronics.

Bibby, UK offers a range of Melting Point Apparatuses to suit all users. The SMP10 with thermometer, is ideal for teaching as it not only teaches students how to read a thermometer but also teaches them about phase changes. The SMP10 is a simple digital unit, ideal for quality control. Our most sophisticated manual melting point is the SMP30, with fast cooling times, head up display and 0.1°C resolution. It is ideal for R&D. Or for those users who can't spare the time for a manual measurement can use our SMP40 automatic melting point which uses the latest in digital imaging to automatically detect an accurate melting point for the sample. The result can also be reviewed on the in-built screen, either during the measurement or afterwards.
