A pressure sensor (often also referred to as a pressure transmitter) converts the physical quantity 'pressure' into an industry-standard signal. WIKA diaphragm seals (often also referred to as chemical seals), mounted with pressure gauges, process transmitters, pressure switches etc., are recognised and valued internationally for the most difficult of measuring tasks. By using diaphragm seals, the measuring instruments can be used at extreme temperatures from -90 to +400 °C and with aggressive, corrosive, heterogeneous, abrasive, highly viscous or toxic media. The optimal diaphragm seal designs, materials and filling media are available for each application.
Via cocks, shut-off valves, valve manifolds or monoflanges, pressure measuring instruments can be securely separated from the process during commissioning, maintenance or calibration. Protective devices, such as syphons, overpressure protectors and snubbers, increase the service life and extend the application spectrum of pressure measuring instruments. Alongside the extensive selection of instrumentation valves and accessories, WIKA also offers qualified assembly of different individual components into a complete measuring arrangement (“hook-up”).
A digital pressure gauge displays the acting pressure in an integrated digital display. WIKA offers digital pressure gauges for general industrial applications and also for use in the field of testing and calibration. Process transmitters differentiate themselves from pressure sensors through their increased range of functionality: They feature integrated displays, offer high measuring accuracies and freely scalable measuring ranges, communicate via digital bus signals and can be delivered with a multitude of case variants and also worldwide Ex approvals. Our dial thermometers work on the bimetal, expansion or gas actuation principle. This enables scale ranges of -200 to +700 °C in different class accuracies, response times and resilience to environmental influences. Diverse connection designs, stem diameters and individual stem lengths enable a flexible measuring point design. Dial thermometers with capillaries are particularly versatile. All thermometers are suited for operation in a thermowell if necessary.
Temperature switches are used in a variety of industrial and technical processes. If a preset temperature is reached, then the temperature switch opens or closes a corresponding switch contact. Depending on the requirements, mechanical or electronic switches can be used. In WIKA's broad product range, you will find the right temperature switch for every application.
Resistance thermometers are equipped with platinum sensor elements which change their electrical resistance as a function of temperature. In our range of products you will find resistance thermometers with connected cable as well as versions with connection head. A temperature transmitter can be installed directly in the connection head. Resistance thermometers are suitable for applications between -200 ... +600 °C (dependent on instrument model, sensor element, accuracy class and materials coming into contact with the medium). Accuracy classes AA, A and B apply to all resistance thermometers. They are available with a tolerance value to IEC 60751.
The compact temperature controllers from WIKA offer display, control and monitoring of temperatures. The configuration of the sensor input is made via the multi-function input. Sensors, thermocouples and standard industrial signals, such as 4 ... 20 mA, serve as the input variable of a temperature controller. The control output can be set either as relay (for slow control), as logic level for the control of electronic solid state relays (for fast control and high current loads) or as a continuous 4 ... 20 mA output.

Float switches are used for the point-based limit level detection of one or several levels. They work independently of foaming, conductivity, dielectric, pressure, vacuum, temperature, vapours, condensation, bubble formation, boiling effects and vibrations and are suitable for almost all liquid media. The switching operation is contact-free, free from wear and needs no power supply. The simple and proven functional principle of the float switches enables a very wide range of applications, from general industrial applications through to use in process plants.
Optoelectronic switches are used for the detection of limit levels in liquids. The detection is widely independent of physical characteristics of the liquids such as density, dielectric constant, conductivity and refractive index.
The instruments are notable for their compact design and do not feature any moving components. With a measuring tip from borosilicate or quartz glass, and robust stainless steel cases, they offer a high media compatibility.
Our level sensors enable the continuous measurement of levels, independent of physical and chemical changes of the media such as foaming, conductivity, dielectric, pressure, vacuum, temperature, vapours, condensation, bubble formation, boiling effects and density change. Via the HART® interface, parallel measurement of interface layer and overall level is possible. The level can be displayed proportional to height or volume. Process connection, guide tube and float can be manufactured from stainless steel 1.4571, 1.4435, 1.4539, titanium or various plastics.
Force transducers from WIKA can be delivered with affixed strain gauges or thin-film sensors. The strain gauge technology offers a large geometrical variety and high accuracy, and it is well suited for detecting even the smallest forces. The span of the measuring ranges that can be delivered stretches from 0.5 N to over 10,000 kN. Force transducers with thin-film sensors are very cost-effective for special manufacture or OEM applications and also for safety-related applications due to their redundant output signals.

Air flow sensors are suitable for the measurement and control of air flows in ventilation and air-conditioning systems. The air flow calculation is made using the ventilator constant (k factor). For operation in ventilation pipes and ducts, air flow sensors are available with special measuring probes.
Pressure balances (often also referred to as mechanical dead-weight testers or primary standards) are the most accurate reference instruments for pressure. Their functional principle is based on the physical principle of pressure = force/area. Mass pieces placed on the top of a piston-cylinder system are the source of a precisely defined force. By producing a certain (counter) pressure inside the pressure balance an equilibrium is achieved: the mass pieces, including the free-running piston of the piston-cylinder system, are floating, which will lead to a very accurate pressure at the test port.
Precision pressure measuring instruments are electrical measuring systems which convert pressure into an electrical signal and optionally visualise it. Precise pressure transmitters and process transmitters are used for the monitoring and control of particularly sensitive processes. Due to the low, DKD/DAkkS certified measurement uncertainty of down to 0.008 % of the entire measuring chain, the particularly accurate instruments find their primary applications as a factory/working standard for testing and/or calibrating a variety of pressure measuring instruments.
Test pumps serve as pressure generators for the testing, adjustment and calibration of mechanical and electronic pressure measuring instruments through comparative measurements. These pressure tests can take place in the laboratory or workshop, or on site at the measuring point.
Calibration baths are electronic controllers which automatically, quickly and with the help of a liquid supply a temperature Due to the high reliability, accuracy and exceptional homogeneity in the measuring chamber, calibration baths are particularly suitable as a factory/working standard for the automatic testing and/or calibration of the widest range of temperature probes − independent of diameter. A special micro calibration bath design enables on-site applications.
Hand-helds are portable calibration instruments for mobile use for the accurate measurement and recording of pressure profiles. There are interchangeable pressure sensors with measuring ranges of up to 8,000 bar available for the instruments. Through this, hand-helds are particularly suitable as test instruments for a large variety of applications in the widest range of industries. Data recorded in the hand-held can be evaluated via PC software. Some instruments document calibrations in the internal memory, which can later be read on a PC. Optionally, a calibration certificate can be generated with our calibration software WIKA-CAL.
