These are general purpose coatings where a limited amount of exposure to sunlight is experienced. They have all round generally good properties. The coating has slight orange peel. Most glossy finishes are based on this. 

Epoxy-polyester powder coatings are based on a combination of polyester and epoxy resins. This chemistry of powder coating finds its target market in a wide range as a vast range of special effects are possible, hence this chemistry finds wide range of applications. Hybrids perform well in non-weather able applications.

These are used where the application is indoors; away from direct sunlight and where chemical resistance is required .The coating is smooth with no orange peel. Most low gloss finishes are based on this. Epoxy coatings are non-weather able finishes which possess outstanding chemical and mechanical properties. Epoxy Powders are the combination of pure epoxy resins cross-linked with proprietary hardeners. This chemistry of powder coating finds its applications where maximum corrosion and chemical resistance is required.

Good Procedures & Practices for Producing Trouble Free Coatings

Maintain a clean & dust free atmosphere and work area. Ensure that the gun and booth are clean before commencing work.
Inspect work area; eliminate possibilities of accumulated dirt on roofing structures and other equipment from blowing or falling on work place.
Do not mix powders from two different suppliers / manufacturers.
Careful attention should be given to having clean, dry, oil free compressed air supply, at the recommended pressure. Periodically drain off water from the compressor tank and flush the airline dry.
Clean sieved reclaimed powder should be mixed in small proportionate quantities, as the work progresses, and not allowed to accumulate and collect the dirt and moisture.
Always store powder in a closed sealed container and in a cool and dry place. The powder should not be left in the equipment for long periods when not being used.

Rapid manufactures special metallic shades which are durable and suitable for decorative coatings. The metallic variants of Rapid powders provide a combined effect of attractive appearance with excellent mechanical properties. 

Some of the metallic variants require a clear topcoat on it to eliminate the possibility of oxidation of the metallic pigments and to protect the integrity of finish.

If the integrity of the finish is not protected then these shades will lose its original color in due course of time when the coated element is exposed to harsh elements, extreme weather or certain cleaning agents.

FABRICATION

Steel wires of the required diameter & length are cut and bent to the desired shape and then spot welded to fabricate the required shape of the article. Jigs should be carefully designed to achieve good accuracy, repeatability and desired production rates. 

The prefabricated article is de-greased, de-rusted, de-scaled, passivated and cleaned. Thin 'wire loops' should be attached at suitable locations, for ease of handling the article, so as not to mar the product appearance. These are later snipped off after the entire operation is over.
