Inductive Proximity Sensors
Inductive Proximity Sensors are used for non-contact metal sensing. Being contactless sensors these can be used for position sensing, speed measurement, counting, etc. They can be used in extreme conditions, such as oily, dusty, corrosive environment. Their application ranges from automobile industries to steel industries, from CNC/NC machines to material handling equipments, process automation, conveyor systems, packaging machines.
DC Type (3 Wire Version)
Inductive proximity sensors can be used for position sensing, Speed measurement, Counting & in condition such as oily, dusty, corrosive enviroment. Their applications are in Automobile, Steel Industries, CNC/NC machines, Conveyor systems, packaging machines etc. These 3 wire DC sensors are with NPN or PNP transistorised output and the load is connected in parallel.
DC Type (2 Wire Version)
These Sensors are designed to work as solid state DC limit switches. The Sensors are connected directly in series with the load and have a bridge rectifier so they are not polarity conscious. The circuit design is such that, when in off state, it allows very low current to flow through the load. However, the output load (such as relay) should be chosen, considering the voltage drop across the switch in the ON State. These sensors find wide application in electric control circuits and PLC’s.
Ac Type (2 Wire Version)
These Sensors are designed to provide better alternative to conventional limit Switches / micro switches. These are epoxy potted similar to other types of sensors to render IP67 protection and hence are suitable even in underwater applications. The load (AC Contactor / AC relay / Solenoid Coil) is to be connected in series with the switch.
Photoelectric Sensor works on the principle of modulated Infra-Red rays. These sensors can sense any opaque, semi-transparent objects which comes in its sensing range. Photoelectric Sensors have large operating distance. These are mainly divided into : Diffused Beam Sensor, Through Beam Sensor with Amplifier Unit, Through Beam Sensor with Built in Amplifier, Retro-Reflective Sensors
WORKING PRINCIPLE
This device consist of a transmitter and a receiver together. This look alike Inductive Proximity Sensor and hence is also known as IR Proximity Sensor. The emitter emits Infra red rays which are reflected on the receiver through the object to be registered. In the use of these sensors, it is important to bear in mind the colour of the object. Light colour corresponds to the maximum distance and vice versa. In case of shiny object; the effect of surface of object is more important than the colour.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
This consist of two devices; a light emitter and a light receiver. These two devices are kept apart facing each other. The Gallium-Aluminium-Arsenide-Luminescent diode integrated in the transmitter sends pulses of light in the infra-red range which are invisible to the human eye. The receiver opposite to the transmitter receive these rays. Sensing is achieved when these rays are interrupted by the object.

Capacitive Proximity Sensor is designed to detect, and react to any object which moves into the operating zone. The sensor contains an oscillator. The capacitance of this oscillator is linked with the sensing face and when any object moves into the operating zone; its capacitance activates the oscillator.
