In year 1969, Mr. Mahendra C Shah started cmanufacturing Hypophosphite. He was the first one to do so in India. He built a factory at Dombivali, near Mumbai in the name of Hypophosphite & Co. with the help of National Chemical Labratories and a German scientist , this plant was the first plant in India to produce Hypophosphite Salts and Hypophosphorous Acid Handel Yellow Phosphorous (P4) and Phosphine (PH3).
