Mihir RCC Cooling Towers per cell have been a huge success in Power Plants and Process Industries

Design Advantage

Motor and Gearbox are directly coupled on a common mounting frame supported on a center RCC column thereby avoiding any vibrations commonly caused by misalignment of transmission shaft between motor and gearbox.
This unique concept of center RCC column allows Casing and FRP fan section to be kept independent of rotating parts like gearbox, motor and fan.

Cost Advantage

The operating costs of these towers are comparatively low as the power consumption is reduced by providing extra quantity of fills which increases the wetted surface area.
Fan Stack could be made in FRP to reduce onsite RCC activity and increase work productivity and faster execution.

Salient Features

Hurricane and Cyclone resistant by virtue of mass which increases the life of the tower.
RCC being a natural material defies the detrimental effects of heat and ultra violet rays making it immune to rot and decay.
Fan Stack/Section canbe supplied in FRP.
Entire load of PVC fills rests on RCC structure.
For contaminated water and water with suspended particles PVC fills of flute size 19mm can be used.
MOTOR: 1500 RPM, 415V TEFC, IP65 Weather proof, horizontally foot mounted.
Make: Siemens /Crompton/ equivalent
FAN: Axial flow fan with FRP blades and dynamically/ statically balanced, hub rotating below 288 RPM.

Mihir, Continuing the grand tradition of continuous and constant innovation, it gives us immense pride in introducing our new range of complete FRP Counter Flow type Cooling Towers with Pultruded FRP Structure, the PM Series.

Our pultruded structure would be manufactured at our own state of the art in house pultrution manufacturing facility, making us the only cooling tower manufacturer in India to have such capabilities. This gives us complete control over design, manufacturing and quality control for these components. As a result we are also the only company in India who can offer pultruded FRP Cooling Towers for all sizes and applications very economically.

All our pultruded profiles are tested and certified by the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.

These cooling towers would offer our customers great advantages, especially for highly corrosive applications where customers today have to opt for either RCC Cooling Towers or Cooling Towers with stainless steel structure. In comparison to these, pultruded FRP cooling towers would offer greater execution speed than the RCC Cooling Towers and would also be economical than stainless steel structures.

Design Advantage

FRP structural products are corrosion resistant to a broad range of chemicals. Pultruded Structures are not only light in weight but also have long life and high strength. Construction and Installation time is very less compared to RCC Cooling Tower.

Salient features

Structural Supports are of Pultruded FRP.
Hardware are of MSHDG which withstands corrosion, however Stainless Steel can also be provided.
Casing is also Pultruded FRP, giving a smooth finish on both the sides.
MOTOR: 1500 RPM, 415V TEFC, IP65 Weather proof, flange / horizontally foot mounted. Make: Siemens /Crompton/ equivalent.
FAN: Axial flow fan with FRP blades and dynamically / statically balanced, hub rotating below 288 RPM.

Cm Series Cooling Towers

Mihir Polacel CM cooling tower operates according to the counterflow principle. The water to be cooled is fed into the tower at the top and is distributed by full cone nozzles with a low pressure drop, and flows down, in the form of a thin water film and small droplets, over the largest possible fill surface for the heat transfer.
The water falls through the fill and is collected in a FRP/RCC basin at the bottom of the tower. The atmospheric air is sucked in through the opening for air inlet on all sides at the lower portion of the tower and moves up through the PVC fill. The air moving up cools the falling water. Here the transfer of heat takes place by evaporation and direct contact. The air inlet is covered by HDG steel mesh or plastic louvers if air inlet height is less then one meter. In case of air inlet height above one meter, air entry is kept open for free flow of air.

<div class=

The XE Series (Crossflow type)

The Mihir Polacel XE cooling tower operates according to the crossflow principle. The hot water to be cooled is fed into a closed FRP distribution pan, having holes in the bottom to equally distribute water over the cooling tower PVC fill. By evaporation and direct contact the water transfers heat to the air which is sucked in by an axial fan. The cold water is collected in a FRP basin at the bottom of the tower for recirculation.

Selection of construction materials:

Mihir Polacel has based the selection of construction materials for the towers on the requirement of complete corrosion and chemical resistance. This has been achieved through the exclusive use of PVC, glassfibre reinforced polyester and hot dipped glavanised steel.

The casing, water distribution system and air inlet Louver:

They are made of glassfibre polyester. It ensures long life and easy maintenance.

Fan unit:

A fan hood of glassfibre reinforced polyester ensures a smooth flow of the water-vapour saturated air towards the fan. The axial fan itself is made of cast aluminium and mounted directly to a low speed electrical motor, specially developed for use in very humid environments (IP 55).

Fill:

The cooling tower fill is made of PVC sheets which are suitable for a maximum water temperature of 50 Degree C . The low pressure drop of the crossflow packing causes low energy costs.

Low noise Level :

The axial fans on the XE cooling towers provide, in combination with a direct driving system and the low pressure drop of the fill, a low noise level.

Low energy consumption:

The gravity water distribution system saves pump energy.

Factory assembled:

Avoids assembly at site.

Easy to transport in a standard container:

A special feature of the XE series towers is thier size. They are designed to fit the size of the containers for transport. This saves costs of seaworthy packing for export.

P.V.C. Fills
