Transformer Oils are electrical insulating oils produced by distillation of virgin paraffinic and naphthenic crude oils followed by modern technologies involving high pressure hydrogenation and hydro-treatment. All the processes are monitored closely and appropriate Base Oil fractions are selected for further processing. Further processing involves removal of moisture and polar impurities to obtain good electrical properties. The technologies result in products with very low pour point, excellent oxidation stability, cooling characteristics and electrical properties. These properties make them suitable for the most demanding transformer applications.
White Oils are manufactured from highly refined Base Oils and consist of saturated paraffinic and cycloparaffinic hydrocarbons. The refinement process ensures complete removal of aromatics, sulphur and nitrogen compounds. The technologies employed result in products that are highly stable over time besides being hydrophobic, colourless, odourless and tasteless.
A lubricant is a substance introduced to reduce friction between moving surfaces. It may also have the function of transporting foreign particles. The property of reducing friction is known as lubricity. Typically lubricants contain 90% base oil (most often petroleum fractions, called mineral oils) and less than 10% additives.
Savita’s Petroleum Jellies are homogeneous mixtures of highly refined and hydro-treated hydrocarbons with specially selected waxes, forming ointment like gels, which are nearly odourless with excellent hydrating characteristics. The resulting gels have excellent emollient properties and consistency for formulating with other active ingredients. Savita’s ability to offer tailor-made formulations help to offer products meeting customers’ precise and exacting specifications. Savita offers grades that comply with strict standards of BP, USP, NF, EuP, IP and other pharmacopoeias. Petroleum Jellies are favoured by personal care and pharmaceutical companies as very versatile, safe and economical formulation base.
Telecommunication Compounds are used in the manufacture of Copper Cables as well as Optic Fibre Cables. These compounds are gels manufactured by blending specially selected Base Oils with waxes and thermoplastic elastomers. The resulting gels are used as filling compounds and flooding compounds in Copper Cables as well as Optic Fibre Cables.
Savita has developed a business association with Evans Cooling Systems, Inc. USA, and is offering a complete range of unique patented engine cooling products under the brand name "Evans Waterless Coolants". Opportunities exist for all applications: passenger cars, buses & trucks, construction, agriculture, stationary power generator engines, motorcycles, defense equipment, ships and aircrafts. Original equipment manufacturers can take advantage of Evans patented waterless cooling technology when offering advanced engine technologies. Evans waterless cooling technology brings many benefits unachievable with traditional water-based coolants, and can be used for any liquid cooled engine application on earth, sky and sea.
Renewable Energy division was set up in 1999, as Savita realized the need to invest in clean energy sources. Renewable Energy sources are secure, inexhaustible and sustainable forms of energy that are carbon free and thus environmentally friendly.
Savita set up its first wind farm at Vankusawade, Satara, which consisted of three 350 KW windmills. Today the Company has a total installed wind energy generation capacity of over 54.15 MW at 18 sites located in the states of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The Company is the only Carbon-Positive Petroleum Specialty Company in Asia.
Savita has registered 22.70 MW Wind Power Projects with The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) under Clean Development Mechanism, which entitles the Company to get carbon credit revenues for a period of 10 years. Savita has also registered 32.65 MW Wind Power Projects with NYSE APX VCS Registry under Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) which is a greenhouse gas accounting program to verify and issue carbon credits in voluntary markets.
