Effective Diameter Measuring Micrometer (EDMM) is also commonly known as FCM or Floating Carriage Micrometer. This instrument is used for accurate measurement of 'Thread Plug Gauges'. Gauge dimensions such as Outside diameter, Pitch diameter, and Root diameter are measured with the help of this instrument. All these dimensions have a vital role in the thread plug gauges, since the accuracy and interchangeability of the component depends on the gauges used. To reduce the effect of slight errors in the micrometer screws and measuring faces, this micrometer is basically used as comparator.

The work experience shows this light takes much time to get constant light and working in this light sorse id tiresome to eyes. We have developed a green monochrometic light which have a power saving light sorce and ir ready instantantly when swithc on. The fringes in green monochromatic gives no fatiuge to eyes. These are used as comparator samples having different patterns of flatness such as Optical Flat, Convex, Concave etc and mainly required for technical institutes and colleges and are used with monochromatic light unit. measuring faces, this micrometer is basically used as comparator. 

It's universal design enables it to calibrate both plunger and lever DTI's (Dial Test Indicators). It can also be used for calibration of bore gauges. The unit also determines gauge hyteresis which is not possible using conventional gauge blocks. This dial gauge calibrator can be used in calibration laboratories and also be used for roaming shop floor gauge calibration checks as it is a portable device. The test is performed by comparison with the master gauge. The calibrator uses the Abbe's principle.

Range 0-25mm 
The dial gauge calibration tester series “ V ” is one of the most efficient design, specially to check dial indicators, dial test indicators (Lever type dials) and cylinder bore gauges reading 0.01mm. As an additional feature this is a 2 in 1 calibrator which can also calibrate 0.001mm reading dial indicators having short range. Accuracy of the measuring equipment should be 3 to 10 times more accurate than the indicators to be tested. For this, large micrometer head with widely spaced graduation lines for better readability giving direct reading of 0.002mm and having a vernier scale with 9/10 divisions which gives a least count of 0.0002mm is provided. This is suitable for testing 0.01mm and 0.001mm dial gauges, giving an additional feature.
