The KROMATIKS range of high quality pigment pastes offer users a wide range of distinct colour shades, specially formulated to impart weatherability and colour fastness. All KROMATIKS pigment pastes are based on stable, lightfast pigments and reactive media.

The colour pastes are made using a specifically formulated, monomer-free unsaturated polyester resin as the medium (vehicle). This vehicle resin is compatible with almost all known polyester resins and gelcoats.

KROMATIKS colour pastes are a blend of top quality pigment powders (inorganic and organic) finely dispersed into the monomer-free unsaturated polyester resin for maximum storage stability. The pigment powders used are designed for each particular applications, whether your application is in the automobile body building workshops, FRP and cultured marble industries, SMC and DMC manufacturers, overhead storage tanks manufacturers, etc.

KROMATIKS pigment pastes are to be used at 8% and 12% in clear polyester gelcoat and at between 3% and 5% in clear polyester backing resin. All the colours are manufactured to a tolerance of CIELAB D.E.0.5 from a master standard. Uniformity of the colour can be affected by:

4. Incorrect weighing of the colour paste. The addition must be done by weight due to variation in specific gravities of the colour paste.

Pigments for Epoxide resins

The physical, chemical and electrical properties of epoxide resin in filled and unfilled forms make them the obvious choice in a host of applications. Pigments are used to differentiate, mask and lend aesthetics in potting, casting and encapsulation of delicate or secret electrical circuits and components. Similarly, in civil applications, epoxy floor coats, corrosion-resistant coatings, aisles, gangways, shop-floor and storage areas are pigmented using different colours.

Traditionally hot air, steam, oil lines in chemical plants are pigmented using different colours. So also cooling water lines are coloured differently. Pigments used to blend in the epoxy systems must therefore be not only compatible but also exhibit the high performance characteristic of epoxy resins. KROMATIKS colour pastes for epoxy resins are specially formulated to impart these special properties.

KROMATIKS colour pastes for epoxy resins are specially formulated using a modified epoxy resin as a vehicle, so colour pastes for epoxy resins are highly compatible with all epoxy systems.
Kromatiks colour pastes are made using a blend of heat resistant pigment powders to ensure retention of shade even under exothermic epoxy cross linking elevated temperature curing.

POLYURETHANES

Pigments for Polyurethanes

Kromatiks colours for Polyurethane foams are a blend of high quality pigments finely dispersed in polyether polyols of various molecular weights for colouring pu foam of various densities. The correct choice of dispersing medium and chemical nature of the pigment is crucial because of the large number of variables involved in the foaming process. The polyol used as the dispersing agent in the KROMATIKS colour pastes is a polyether polyol, as the carrier polyol, due to its reactivity, becomes a fully integrated part of the foam (slab stock). The physical properties of the final foam remains unchanged even when high use levels are applied.

Kromatiks' repertoire consists of variants of RED, YELLOW, ORANGE, GREEN, BLUE, VIOLET and BLACK and are available in a wide variety of new, exciting shades to choose from unlike imported colour pastes and colorants where only 4-5 primary colours are offered. Users do not have to take the trouble of mixing by trial-and-error the limited number of primary colours to achieve the desired shade. The colours are manufactured to a tolerance of CIELAB D.E.1 from a master standard.
