CHARACTERISTICS

The extraordinary characteristics of PTFE make itthe ideal choice in a wide range of products andapplications. PTFE has a coefficient of friction that isone of the lowest of any material. PTFE is extremelyabrasion resistant, making it adaptable to theharshest environments. In addition, PTFE canwithstand a wide range of temperatures, from260Degrees Centigrade down to-270 DegreesCentigrade, and can even handle brief exposures athigher temperatures. PTFE also has excellent flameresistance due to its extremely high melting point,along with a very low rate of smoke generation andheat release. Another advantage of PTFE is that it ischemically inert and pure, and has no additionalstabilizers, lubricants or plasticizers that would taintprocess fluids.

PTFE is extremely corrosion resistant, especially toacids, and harsh inorganic and organic chemicals.Additionally, the original properties PTFE remain thesame even after extended time periods in water.Furthermore, PTFE is resistant to atmospheric agingin the form of discoloration, oxidation, and, aspreviously noted, is not affected by ultraviolet light
